For those of you who have oil consuming 2az-fe engines, the oil control piston ring is probably gummed up with carbon. If you do a piston soak (look it up on YouTube) it will probably fix this issue. I did it to my 08 rav4 that burned 1qt every 400 miles. Id go through 10qt in between oil changes. After that piston soak, no oil top up in between changes.

i noticed that also hyundai Tucson 2.5L burns too much oil, every 3 months of driving you will need to add a quart in the engine

I think is all about maintenance. Change oil sooner ( even sooner than the manufacturer is saying ) and you have no carbon build-up.
