My parents have actually told me they don't want me to sacrifice my life for them if they get sick and need to be taken care of. They want me to live my life and take care of my family one day, not of them. They have told me I should look for a professional facility to enroll them in if they need it, in the worst case scenario. And I appreciate them for that, they wanted childern to give life, not to have them sacrifice it for them.

My mum and auntie go and visit my Nonna in the nursing home at least four times a week, however it is filled with elderly who are lucky to get a visit from their kids or grandkids once a year and that’s usually a couple of hours on Christmas

My friend works in a nursing home and tells me the majority of people there are parents abandoned by their KIDS. Lucky if they get one visit a year on a holiday

my ex has 5 sons. when she got bedridden NONE of her sons took care of her. she laid in the back room for years. she had full altztimers and kept calling me. we broke up in 1997!!!! I never showed up for her and she kept begging. I wasn't good enough 4 her & her son so I'm not good enough to change her diapers. clock that boo
