@chekmedia: The BC Wildfire Service is reminding drone operators of the dangers of flying their aircraft too close to a wildfire, after one was spotted in the vicinity of the out-of-control Mount Underwood blaze near Port Alberni. Flying a drone near a wildfire could lead to steep penalties – up to $100,000 – “and/or jail time,” the BCWS reiterates in an online post Wednesday. #news #cheknews #chek #localnews #vancouverisland #britishcolumbia #bc #canada #wildfire #bcwildfire #wildfires #bcwildfires #mountunderwood #fire #portalbernibc #firefighter #firefightersoftiktok #canada🇨🇦 #canada_life🇨🇦 #portalberni
The government needs to start in acting harsh penalties on drone manufactures too. DJI removed their messaging about regulations so now there’s literally nothing for operators as a reading requirement before they start up their drone. Drones should be liscensed & insured like cars so authorities can more easily track down those that do things like this & then also fine the manufacturer.

it's funny, firefighters who work these fires aren't allowed to record aftermath unless given explicit permission, and never active fires. funny how they don't want the public seeing what's actually happening. but don't worry, we have our mainstream government funded news to tell us what's really happening
