Its sunna! its a choice but its VERY VERY OBLIGATED to wear it. when u hit puberty its supposed to be already on ur mind to wear it. i wore it on my own alhamdulilah, Ur very pretty but sooner or later u kinda need to wear it. i dont wanna make things up but i heard once hadith or idk really that a woman whos not a beliver is better then a woman who belives in allah and isnt wearing a hijab.
