They need to refund you this is ridiculous, there's a reason that first class was payed & they couldn't even provide the basics for the upgrade let alone a normal experience, ON TOP of severe food poisoning. Not only is it a huge impact in a negligence sense but in a direct sense when you were paying & actively trying to do what's best for your health within your control.

Hmm I fly ORD to Miami on AA all the time, first class. This is INSANE!! I’ve never had an issue with AA. If I got on any plane that looked like this I’d get off immediately

So I have status with AA and the only first/business class product they have that’s worth it is the A321 transcon. Everything else sucks. First class with no tv or WiFi is insane for how much it costs. I’d rather sit in the bulkhead in coach and save $$.

my last AA flight the man in front of me got sick EVERYWHERE besides the bag before takeoff and they did NOTHING on the flight or after when i complained. the worst.

I swear, I had a flight on the same plane! I didn’t want to touch anythingThe gate was packed so I planned to charge my phone on the flight & there was nothing! Guess where I was flying to? DFW!
