A lot of people are confused lol, but anatomically, if humans were to ever have wings, that's more or less where they'd have to be to be functional. Right under the shoulder it would not work because your arms are in the way and you'd be pulling too much weight from under the wings where as with the wings around the hip area, they are already at our center of gravity so they can use the weight in its favor rather than fighting against it.

They are some cool wings, and interesting you have it attached at the waste, ik alot of character designs have the wings like this, but did having them at the shoulder blades not work or is it a preference to have them at the waste?? But still overall they look amazing, great work 👍😁
