@helipilotleigh: Flying inside a basin after a Glacial Lake Outburst Flood #Jökulhlaup. The other helicopter helps show the scale of how big these chunks of ice are. This was a lake until a few days ago when it had a G.L.O.F. event and drained…you can actually see the water escape point in the lower left part of this video. This is quite a common occurrence and happens to many glacier lakes. Most of them go unnoticed like this one as they are in uninhabited places, but the event that happens annually in Juneau, Alaska is unique in that it affects infrastructure and community. Glad to see everyone is well and good after the event in Juneau, and that the barriers helped, although the bridge will need some work.🙏
Here for tens of thousands of years, only to disappear in our lifetime.

They will be back at the beginning of the next ice age, the earth is always in a state of flux, the most natural thing in the world.

I hate to be the one, but climate change is a made up concept. Eunice Newton warned of the warming effects of carbon and water vapor, then Judith Curry took it further. After further study, Judith retracted her initial statement but it was to late, the harbingers of money making had took ahold. Our Earth is a self regulating ecosystem, she goes thru periods of extreme heat and cold. This has been back by examination of ice core samples which are literally like counting the rings of I tree trunk. Our planet is in its own right truly a self regulating biosphere, Gaia hypothesis.

Serious question - does the exhaust from helicopters contribute to warming as well?

And just like that, a beautiful flight with matching scenery is diluted in the political, rage baiting comment section.
