Ai is the final nail in the coffin for late stage capitalism. You can't have a consumer economy if your customers don't have any money because they don't have a job.

if the government is ok with this entering the work force, they better implement universal income. You can't just chuck jobs out and leave citizens dying. bc that's what will happen.

So what I'm hearing is the labour intensive or low paid sectors are the only ones that are safe

Seriously AI would not be able to do childcare🤣🤣 schools that’s on the fence but definitely not childcare because how can AI handle at least Maybe 10 kids in a room but then at least 100 kids on the floor🤣 and all the emotions and taking care soo I’m fine😆😋

Unfortunately totally disagree with sales being replaced. People who have the ability to sell will always exist because it’s the ability to interact with people and networking is filled with nepotism so while sales ‘logically’ should be replaced, jobs like these will never leave a capitalist society

there is no way programmers will be taken over, AI written code is extremely messy and unreliable. receptionists are also never gonna be replaced, they do more than AI could ever do. actually most of these jobs couldn't be done better by an AI

AI cannot perform historical research/searches. None of the models can access archives or successfully navigate museum collections. I doubt AI can ever be trained in conveyancing or property law. Those jobs require human interpretation of the data/sources.

when I went to school we had computer class, and honestly it was helpful as a foundation. It would be good to have that carry through for the new gens now.

Assuming Ai can’t be banned, govt needs to step in now and radically raise taxation on companies that replace large numbers of employees with Ai

I'm just so screwed and I don't even know what to do anymore. I can't work any physical jobs because of a disability. And every job on a computer is going to be replaced. I literally don't have any options anymore.

They keep trying to replace receptionists but I'm getting steady temp work as one. AI still can't sign for packages or say hello to people. Companies want that

So the only way for people to work their way out of massively damaging labour and poverty jobs is being taken away by AI. What happens when you can't do manual labour anymore?

This is so insane - less jobs because of higher overall productivity should mean more leisure time all around. Obv we need to be prepared for slightly different job needs, but we should be preparing for CEOs and owners to be share in the leisure
