Glad TikTok has made longer comments for this moment… Anything by Andrew Joseph White (this does not meet your older adult request but he does horror SO GOOD, especially body horror. The Spirit Bares Its Teeth is intense !!), Lee Mandelo does adult horror/sci fi. Most renowned for Summer Sons, but Feed Them Silence is a shorter sapphic novel. OUR WIVES UNDER THE SEA!!!!!!!! by Julia Armfield!! Patricia Wants to Cuddle by Samantha Allen (more light hearted comedy/horror to me, but it is in the horror genre). What Moves the Dead by T Kingfisher (Edgar Allan Poe retelling, I found it a bit dry but loved the nonbinary protag!) House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson. A Dowry of Blood by ST Gibson (Dracula’s bride’s story). My Darling Dreadful Thing by Johanna Van Veen. Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell. A Botanical Daughter by Noah Medlock - BIG!! Reccomend!!! Stunning book all round. Posh middle aged gay couple but with a sapphic storyline too. I think you’d love this actually. Bored Gay Werewolf by Tony Santorella. Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle. Two YA but more focus on horror than any romance (still sapphic/ace rep): Wilder Girls by Rory Power (the body horror metaphor in this is chefs kiss) and Sawmill Girls by Claire Legrand. Also - Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas has SUCH a good story & Don’t Let the Forest In by C.G Drew’s is v popular right now. I am breaking the no YA rule repeatedly but sometimes books are so good you gotta rec them 🙂↕️You’ve got your classics: Carmilla, Dracula, Dorian Gray. I Keep My Exoskeletons To Myself by Marisa Crane is more sci-fi/dystopian but so so good. Also doesn’t hit either of your requested genres but Emily Austin writes great sapphic books that just capture the existential despair of being alive lmao. The only sapphic fantasy I can think off the top of my head (besides Legends & Lattes which has been mentioned 💞) is Queen of Coin and Whispers by Helen Corcoran. It was a bit slow for me because there’s a lot of intricate world building (so much detail about accounting…) and as with most royalty storylines it’s quite political, but you might enjoy that! Reforged by Seth Haddon hit similarly - politics slowed it

went straaaight to my bookshelves. okay first, legends and lattes 100%, it’s less high fantasy more dnd vibes & so so cosy, i’ve recommended that book to like everyone i know!! 2nd, house in the cerulean sea is super cute! 3rd, carmilla, it’s the sapphic vampire romance that inspired dracula and i loooove it so much. 4th, it’s not older gays but has all the other elements you’re looking for, gwen and art are not in love (wlw & mlm!!) hope this helpssss 💞

I don't think it has spice it's more slow burn cosy but I'm really enjoying Legends & Lattes at the moment! 🫶

Gallant by VE Schwab is my favourite horror/thriller book atm . And The house in the cerulean sea by TJ Klune is a queer fantasy book I just read . It’s more a 1/5 spicy level but it’s a very sweet book

The Priory of the Orange Tree is great honestly. It’s an Epic Fantasy novel with 4 protagonists, of whom two are sapphic. Honestly it’s great, my only warning is that it is 800 pages long.

I’m currently reading dark and drowning tide by Allison saft, it’s queer sapphic, high fantasy magic, little bit of scary. Haven’t got far enough for spice but I hope so

The woods all black is a great horror, queer trans body horror. I LOVE NK Jemisin's trilogy the 5th season. not specifically high fantasy, but fantasy/scifi/speculative and queer. If you haven't read Iron Widow yet do thatttttt

For horror, I’d recommend anything by Grady Hendrix but especially How To Sell A Haunted House, or Girls of Little Hope by Dale Halvorsen and Sam Beckbessinger

Not meeting your second requirement, but for your first, A Short Stay In Hell is vast coded. Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke - queer and Corruption coded. The Hole by Hye-Young Pyun, tragic and Buried coded.

camp damascus by chuck tingle is a Horrifying book with a sapphic mc - so not sapphic fantasy but sapphic horror. warning, it does deal with christian conversion camps but the descriptors are CRAZY good. it genuinely made my stomach churn at some parts, i really enjoyed it!
