I'm currently playing the franchise for the first time ever and I'm playing in release order. However I must say that this is definitely the worst game and my least liked out of the previous four I have played. It's mainly due to the change in controls (They're so wonky man I didn't get used to them until Sequence 8 hell I still can't get used to the swordplay it's extremely different from the previous four games. Not to mention you can't even stealth kill the guards by yanking them off the side of the boats and buildings any more.) and the historical setting being one I'm not too fond of researching due to all the misinformation that was taught in school since 1st grade until graduation. However I really did enjoy the characters and the story. To me the characters, ancestor storyline, naval combat, and modern storyline were the only things that made the game enjoyable enough to grin and bare it. So to me it was a 5 out of 10 game it could've been so much better. It's not great or bad it's just meh. I was initially so excited for it because of Connor's character, but it turned out so lackluster.

tbh I love Connor more than Haytham or Ezio not every character needs to be Charismatic like Ezio or Haytham and if you wanna know more about Connor character just play Home Stayed side mission
