@northslopeforestry: This is an example of when you make best plan you can and it doesn’t work out. This tree went sideways on us, it had dead lean towards the big boulder we had it faced up towards, after compromising enough fibers the catface took over and undermined the trees center of gravity sending it off its lean and off our face about 90°. We didn’t want to fall it that direction due to the dominant lean and other trees. The dead lean seemed like the safest bet. It’s a dangerous job we have and I hope you other fallers can learn from our mistakes. Stay safe #hazardtrees #snagfallers #lessonlearned #wildfire #learning
