@kayli.kiing: I know that total feels insane so here are more details and a country specific breakdown 👇🏼👇🏼 This was for nearly 2 months total and the cost is in USD I really went back and forth on whether to share this video or not. My main goal in sharing these totals is for transparency and to give an idea of what to expect if you’re trying to replicate parts of the exact trip I was showing. It is 100% possible to do these countries cheaper, but it does add up quickly!! Also - I spent most of my time in some of the most expensive mountain towns of the Alps, which you don’t have to do!! Austria is a great cheaper alternative 👀 Is this a type of trip I will be doing again anytime soon?? No 😅 I will be resuming my regularly scheduled budget traveling. For a comparison on costs, last year I traveled SE Asia for 5 months and had a DAILY budget of $40/day for food, accommodation and activities. I ended up spending about $15K for the entire 5 months in total. I set aside this money and live in my van but it goes hand in hand with the fact that these are 95% of my living expenses and traveling is apart of my job! The $600 of “misc” included things like haircut, a running vest, a sweater for myself, presents for family, skincare, laundry, magnets and travel insurance (I use @safetywing and they cover climbing) The van work exchange would have been $1,690 for 2 weeks in a small van or $2,129 for the bigger van. I also had access to the Swiss Travel Pass for work and used that for 2 days (Interlaken > Zermatt and Zermatt > Grindelwald). I did pay for a few trains on my own before I had that pass. ✨Now for the country specific breakdowns✨ Portugal 9 days: $1,528 Tour du Mont Blanc Hike 8 days: $1,156 total France (only Chamonix) 12 days: $1,994.61 Italy 7 days: $777 (no accommodation in this cost) Switzerland 9 days: $1,396 (no accommodation in this cost, well actually 1 night hotel) Iceland 3 days: $800 #solofemaletraveler #backpackeurope #costoftravel #europetravel
