@welovecuddly: Found Brutally Blinded In One Eye, This Starving Kitty's Ears Had Been Mutilated Leading Us To Believe She Was Abused Meet our #CatOfTheWeek, Clarinha. She was rescued in one of the most fragile and heartbreaking conditions we’ve seen in a long time. She was found with no known history; she was extremely thin, bleeding heavily, and visibly suffering. The tip of Clarinha’s right ear has been cut off. Both ears are covered in crusts and bleeding so much that the vet couldn’t even remove them safely. Her damaged eye appears intact, but the surrounding tissue—the conjunctiva—is so swollen it’s nearly unrecognizable. We don’t know what happened to Clarinha, but we do know she’s endured more pain than any innocent animal ever should. To safely clean her wounds and collect samples, she had to be lightly sedated. That’s how much pain she was in. We’re now waiting on cytology results, but we’re expecting the worst. We fear Clarinha has Carcinoma, Sporotrichosis, or even both conditions simultaneously. We are doing everything we can to stabilize her. Clarinha needs us. We can’t continue without urgent support.
