Why would a theoretical physicist reputation be harmed for this? The entire point of academics in science fields is to push the bounds? I think this project is extremely cool though, and I’m excited to see results.

remember tesla was an outsider, his ideas where thought of as wrong, that things like dc was the way to go, but he proved them wrong by doing his thing and just working at it, so just do your thing an maybe one day down the road if it all works out, people will be studying about you.
