I have never taken air out i just fill the cartridge and go and have never had a problem

Yes it will still work. Only thing is if there is too much air and you continue to push the insulin in, it sometimes busts out the other end and insulin sprays everywhere 😂 learning from experience

we have taken the air out two times and both times the pump ended up not recognizingthe cartridges. We don't do it. Works fine for us without taking the air our.

try it, if it doesn't work replace it, worst case you need a new cartridge best case you dont.
