"But Jax-" is having a panic attack because Pomni read him like an open book. He's trying to play it off, push her away, he doesn't want to be vulnerable because he most likely sees it as a weakness. Jax has coped by forcing himself to see the circus as a fake reality, a game. Accepting pomni as a friend means to accept the rest of the circus as real. Hes trying to push pomni away so no one gets to see his true emotions. The only problem is, he doesn't have the poker face he thinks he does. That's how pomni is reading him to easily, his micro expressions and the shiver behind his voice as he speaks shows how much he's trying to hide behind a sadistic act.

I CANT HOLD IT IN… for all this time everyone at some point believed Jax could’ve been an NPC because of how ‘brutal’ and ‘violent’ he is.. I’ve noticed this but kept relating to both Pomni And Jax— why? Because I truly believe they are both sides of the same coin.. they both dissociate a lot especially with Jax. In the bathroom scene we see him panicking before quickly calming down and walking out like nothing happened. Dissociation. Acting like nothing happened.. and I’m surprised no one picked in the fact Jax could’ve dissociate a lot and ‘numb’ himself down enough to become so worked up when shouting at Pomni. No one could just suddenly act so rude and mean like that.. it must’ve been that Jax has been exposed to being mentally abused someway— and or slowly becoming mentally more narcissistic. (Since he does tend to show a few signs of it..) but because he sees himself as a character from a comedy series must mean he genuinely derealizes everything around him. Trying to stuff himself into a knitted box as to not face his own problems. Some people could simply put this into simple words; Jax is taking it. But it’s too broad.. unspecific. Jax is only (and more than likely) going to get worse overtime. Assuming/deducting he probably have first hurt Ragatha/Kaufmo after a fight— then Ribbit which only fueled his life before the Digital Circus. And not only that but we can also see Jax is afraid of being under control ..more specifically at Caine since he especially hates when he’s monitored. Both mentally and physically (examples: Vegan, Instructions, Spawned in, etc) which is why he makes HIMSELF become a bad person.. and makes HIMSELF look as plain and as face level surface as he can be as to not be a target of Caine. That’s why he plays a persona, why HE tries to convince and even TELLS Pomni the VERY first episode about the ‘stereotypes’ he says about everyone else. But Pomni..? She’s not a child— that’s her whole skit. She hates being controlled and fantilized like Jax was- except the fact she HAS the courage to step out AND act out of place rather than follow through with what others want. Even speaking up even if she doesn’t say her every thought.

ok hear me out... what if Ribbit was abusive to Jax, and made Jax think that having fun means hurting other people but when ribbit abstracted he didn't have anyone to torment him so he became aggressive because that's what he thought meant making friends was. and what if Ribbit did something when he hugged Jax and jax learned over time to push ribbit away before he could do something. so ribbit taught Jax that violence was funny, and to mask his real emotions because that wasn't cool
