It’s the fact that he pushed Pomni away when she hugged him as he smiled only for him realizing he was getting attached towards someone that he could lose again and then just starts acting like this to push her away even further before they could have an actual bond (his face also reset everytime to that smiley wide eyed state so he can act like he wasn’t losing his chill for a split moment in said conversation)
