HEAR ME OUT. So, we know that he lost his tail before Pomni got to the circus, so most likely during the time ribbit absctacted. And in this episode we see him close with Pomni, closer than we've seen him with anyone before, almost like she's filling ribbits spot. (thats why he got so scared when she hugged him.) So if he lost his tail with ribbit, it makes sense we see it back when he's this close with Pomni.

it's crazy to me how jax knows how someone can get abstracted and knows how to avoid it by not being real with them and instead has to lie about stuff he didn't remember but he obviously does just to protect them from not abstracting just like pomni

I have a theory. Before Kaufmo was isolated, he was very close to Jax and they were close friends. After Kaufmo was isolated, Jax was left alone. He is trying not to get used to Pomni and is pushing her away from him so that the same thing doesn't happen again
