HOW I BENCHED 290 LBS (at 15 years old) I bench pressed 290 lbs at 15 years old, and I’ll be showing you the 2 exercises I did to explode my bench. The first exercise is the larsen press. Without using your legs are leg drive, you’ll need to use your upper body to stabilize yourself, not only that but it also works on your pure upper body strength without the use of your legs. I would normally do this with a weight of around 70% of my 1 rep max, for about 3 sets of 5 reps. The next one is an extremely underrated exercise, static holds. The reason why we might fail a one rep max, but then start repping a weight around 15 lbs less, is because you have a weak central nervous system. This means that your body is used to doing repetitions with light weight, but not used to doing singles with heavy weight. Load up a weight of around 10% over your 1rm, and hold it for about 10 seconds. Trust me, this made the biggest change in my bench[press strength.
