Why wouldn’t they just issue a warning for the burnt out tail light have the man fix it bring it back look at it if it’s good to go where you go why is she a ticket for it and set a court date what a waste taxpayers money I know they’re doing their job, but still

As a Canadian, I was coming back from New Jersey one Saturday night..got stopped small town in southern part of New York State..right headlight out ..10pm on a Saturday night, NOTHING I CAN DO..cop gave ticket TO APPEAR IN COURT..not a ticket with a set price…I was four provinces away the date of court…two months go by nothing in the mail ..called they said “oh you didn’t appear in court “ ..,oh but I’m guilty of the headlight out nothing I can do RIGHT…ok 75$ fine plus 85$ surcharge
