And remember you can divide the first 2 numbers of a fractional Motor to get height from base to centerline of shaft!

You might also be able to change out the whole motor and gear drive if they are similar Shaft and mount. Style.

I have done it with same frame and rpm but different amperage . In this situation I just replaced the heaters that goes with amperage on the new motor

I live in an area where motors are plentiful, so the fastest way is always to call around, and get the right motor. Have a courier bring it within 2 hours.

Could you go into detail on rectifiers and amplifiers and how they differ from VFDs? I’m having a lot of trouble understanding the concept (I didn’t go to school for maintenance, everything I’ve learned has been on the field)

This happened to us last week. We found a TC and used it. Some motors are close in measurements and will have dual frame(ex. 284T/6T). A higher HP will work if the VFD is rated for it, and if amps are higher, be sure wire size can handle it. You can upgrade the VFD. You also need to look at the breaker. Find a local AC motor repair shop and rush it. Some motors can be repaired in one day.

Awesome TikTok! Yeah this is a regular occurrence in industry. I really like the fact you said to remember to put things back to original when you can. I’ve seen a lot of people get lazy and just forget about restoring things back the way they were. It always causes problems down the road!👍😉

Oversized motor with same frame don’t like to undersize if avoidable, or 3600rpm motor with a gearbox with double ratio.. or slow down speed off drive. It depends on a lot of things what parts you have.. how it’s wired…

284 tc or 284 th. ideally if it's slotted anything same horse and rpm could.be run with an adapter plate.
