I respect you’re belief and I apologise for that guys rudeness, but I genuinely don’t see how you dismantled his arguments without nitpicking specific details. All gods and religions are all just as possible, since they are all unobservable, they all stem from the same place of humans trying to understand.

I don’t know why he’s yelling atheism 101 so angrily but I also don’t disagree with him. The ridiculous thing about theism to me is not belief in god itself - I think reasonable minds can come to the conclusion that the universe must have a creator, even if I disagree - but that, despite the complete lack of empirical evidence, you have somehow managed to pick the right one. One of the best arguments apologists have for the resurrection is that “nobody would be martyred for a lie”, which falls on its face after a second’s thought when you consider the myriad mutually exclusive beliefs people have laid down their lives for over the years.

although his derision and Atheism 101 attitude is distasteful, isn't the core ultimately correct? Namely, no single supernatural claim or tradition can really stand above any others as "true" or "real", whatever those mean?

I just feel like at a baseline what he said is true. Every religion in my eyes is equally wrong and equally correct as the others because none of them have 100% irrefutable proof. And to approach his video from a viewpoint of theistic academia when he was making the argument with a sort of personal rational isn’t arguing in good taste.

ultimately all religions will make claims that are fundamentally unfalsifiable, so in a sense your belief in any one is equally as ontologically invalid. some are more believable than others or less ridiculous, but certainly there exists a context wherein this guys claim makes sense.

christianity is like every other faith, it is ok for people to choose to follow it but we should not claim it is above science and history. Nor should we claim any belief is above another.

Obviously Valenti’s video is based on vitriolic attacks, but do you think that videos that make similar points to his can have value as they address commonly held beliefs by laypersons with no knowledge of academic theology or philosophy? I certainly know many Christians, catholics included, who subscribe to a literalist interpretation of the Bible, so is an atheist arguing against that worth it?

There's no greater evidence for the Christan god over any other god in recorded history. He's right. He has a bit of a negative tone but that's tone policing not actual argumentation.
