I want to say it’s shocking but it’s not. Most times HR is for the company not the employees. I’m disappointed Mary believed them but is what it is. I’d quit.

Isn't nepotism wonderful. I worked in the kitchen at a state ran long term psychiatric hospital and got in trouble for things like not using expired bread. It came in on the 10th and the usage is 1+6. Because I used a new loaf on the 17th it was wrong. The other employees that used expired product was OK. I also got in trouble for pointing out the gluten product on the gluten free menu. I was fired (HR approved) and the others stayed. Even the dietitian that put together the menus.
