We can bury ours but I had to do it with a horse I lost out of state. I have to remind myself it's just a body, her soul is waiting for me elsewhere.

Unfortunately some areas do not allow you to bury due to possible water contamination. This is the only choice for some.

I work at landfill we get dogs and cats from animal shelters horses goats cows you name it we get it

I’ve sent a young mustang to one bc the gal who adopted him allowed him to colic so bad it killed him. The next horse she left dead outside for three days after years of not giving him proper care. At boarding facilities we don’t have away to dispose of an animal that large. Leaves me heart broken every time.

our county requires folks compost them. it's illegal to bury. Although they never enforce it. They actually chewed out my office for throwing mice in the trash in town.

So thankful I've been able to bury 3 of mine that have passed over the years. My heart breaks for those that have to do it this way💙🫂 Hugs to you. I actually lost my old man two days ago.

It cost 400$ to dig a hole. 1500$ to cremate (was 2900). It’s ridiculous and this is a good option for those that don’t have room/means.

yep. picked up dead livestock for a living for 7 years. all went to the landfill.

Our county it cost $30 per animal. Our soil water conservation district helps pay for the remainder of the bill to dispose of

It’s illegal to bury animals within city limits in the last two places I’ve lived. And those that don’t get cremated all get taken to a specific area of the dump specifically for animals. As many need to be buried at a certain death due to the chemicals (euthanasia)

Years ago my local animal control said the landfill next door to it incinerated the animals that had to be put to sleep.

Here in Texas it’s illegal to bury them in many counties. Some people cremate and some people haul off. Theres also the option, depending on where you are, to donate livestock (not euthed with dr%gs) to big can sanctuaries!
