When I was younger, I used to imagine, that growing up and leaving home would be exciting , freedom, new places, chasing dreams. I thought it would be all about discovering myself and building my own life. But no one ever told me how much I would miss the little things… the warm meals, the sound of my parents’ voices, the feeling of being cared for without even asking. Now, living far from them, I realize that independence comes with a price. It’s not just about paying bills or handling responsibilities, it’s about learning to survive without the safety net of home. Some nights I stay awake replaying memories in my mind, wishing I could go back just for a moment, to feel that comfort and love again. Some days I feel strong, ready to face the world, but other days I feel like a little child all over again, wishing I could run back into their arms. Distance has taught me so much. It taught me strength, patience, and resilience. But it also taught me loneliness. It made me realize that no matter how far I go, the love of my parents is something I will always need, something I will never outgrow. Their sacrifices, their prayers, their guidance… those are the things that keep me moving when life gets hard. I may be far away physically, but my heart is always tied to them. Every achievement I chase, every step I take, is with them in mind ,to make them proud, to give back for all they have given me. Being away is painful, but it also reminds me every single day how blessed I am to have parents worth missing this much. ❤️
