Half the people here not understanding that AI spitting out a pretty flat image is not the same as creating brand guidelines is KILLING ME

The AI designs aren’t very good, but they’re closer to what is in the brief than what you did. You seemed to focus on sophisticated but missed bold, playful, retro, and vibrant.

Not in defense of AI, but in an effort to explain my own fears as a Graphic Designer. Your designs are MUCH better, but the question becomes whether or not the quality difference is enough for a client, who may have next to no artistic taste, to pay you for it and wait days to weeks, vs getting the AI result for free in an hour or two with infinite revisions. This happened with 2 of my recurring clients, where they expressed that they loved my work, and knew the overall quality was better, but doing it for free, with infinite revisions and near instant results was just too good to pass up for their businesses.

The AI one is very generic. That’s why people like it, they’ve seen it 100 times before

There's a difference between a logo and a full branding package for a company. I dont think everyone gets that.

The comments defending the AI are not it. From a graphic designer your brand work is much better

1) you obviously blasted the ai out of the water because you have true creativity instead of manufactured 2) non designers don’t know design and will accept garbage and frankly? That’s all they’ll be able to understand 🙄

I’m sorry people have bad taste, but it goes to show why the fight against AI images is so hard. The majority of people do not have the ‘eye’ for design, and AI is great at creating a simple, easy to digest, bold design — that is generic as all hell. It’s giving when brands rebranded 2020-2024 and all went to boring sanserif fonts and lost all originality. I will say though, I don’t love the font choice for ‘Salty’ I agree it reads like Sally, maybe just a bit more space in the kerning?

Absolutely AI can’t handle such a clean project but it inspires sometimes or maybe organize the ideas that is floating randomly

Ok wait hold on hear me out: reading the brief I knew what you’d design. It’s almost like the brief saw an example of that overly trendy (and boring) aesthetic and mood boarded it without actually thinking about what “salty Paloma” actually means. AI

Real issue is, if AI is getting this good in its early days, think how great it will be in 5 years. 10 years will be fantastic.

I like your design but the salty part is so narrow I couldn’t read what it said. Could you make it less squished?

Sam :
I get and understand the difference and def prefer the whole brand guide produced by the designer, but I cannot for the life of me read the word Salty and every single time the logo shows up I have to squint. So in that sense the AI did a better job of at least making the brand sort of legible.

You should do a TikTok where you present your work alongside an AI generation, just like this, but make people guess which work is yours and which is AI. I think that would be fun, engaging content
