what does it mean to be saved👉 salvation is Gods rescue to sinners from sin/judgement because Jesus Christ took the punishment we deserve (romans 3:23-26) it is given by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) we contribute nothing to our salvation except the sin we need saving from. salvation is not just about escaping judgment, it is about new life in Christ: we have been saved (justification- Romans 5:1) we are being saved (sanctification - Romans 6:22) we will be saved ( Glorification- Romans 8:30). Grace is opposed to earning but not effort - we don’t work for salvation, but as those who have been saved, we live out the good works God has prepared for us ( Ephesians 2:10) these works flow from gratitude and the security of our union with Christ which is secured by Him alone. Our union with Christ never changes, but our communion with Him deepens as we grow in faith and obedience.🫶
