Theyre slowing down on buying foreign brands but domestic brands are booming, travel and dining are booming. This summer every train and plane were sold out. Every ancient attraction was sold out 2 weeks in advsnce and theres a wait at every nice restaurant every night. The real estate “crisis” just means housing is more affordable

Damn , that would also be sad for my country coz in tourism we have been getting a growth in revenues particularly from Chinese tourists, we even came up with plans to attract more Chinese tourists but if they pulling back from buying then it’s sad

Every year for last 20 yrs I read about China's upcoming doom.Meanwhile, they earn more and more, buils state of thd art cities and infrastructure, have no inflafion, and almost zero poverty. While US produces countless zombie addicts each year, ppl land on streets bcs of hospital bills, infrastucture straight from 19th cent, food pure poison..I have feeling China will be fine.

that's not how it works. china did this deliberately. they didn't want to become a consumer based economy.

they arent a consumer economy so this isnt correct. Their economy wont slow if their consumer consumption is low, because thats not what generates the wealth. China has a productive export economy, which means they produce goods that will be exported to other countries. Also when they cant do this, they will use smaller countries to export for them, to bypass the harsh tariffs. Also the economy is run by the state, and the state will move to ensure the economy stays stable, like they have done every economic slowdown. Also everytime the econ slows down its due to not being able to trade, not low domestic consumption. Covid is a great example of this, because its the only thing that has significantly slowed down the chinese economy in recent decades.
