if you thrift shoes on a regular basis you get a feel for what has dry rot and what doesn’t, there’s a couple ways you can tell, if all else fails make sure u don’t pay for overpriced used shoes

i took a pair of heels i thrifted to a cobbler and he showed me how to check the integrity, he told me unless they are actually worth how much it takes to fix them (30-70 depending on the issue) then it’s better to leave them there if they aren’t structurally sound!
