As a CRNA, even though the patient is asleep, I typically give a bolus of Propofol right before they apply the Mayfield. Even though the patient is completely unaware, it makes the heart rate and blood pressure shoot up when it goes on

anesthesiologist here … I always get up in there too and keep a grip on the et tube for as long as they’re moving the head around

Mayfield clamp used for my chiari malformation surgery 3/25. They put you to sleep before applying Mayfield clamp. Spots are sore & small scab.

Can you please talk about what you meant about no pressure on the eyes during surgery? Does the patient wake up with a sore neck because it was put in the same position for so long?

I can't put into words how happy I am that I didn't see this before I had surgery for a subdural hematoma.....I think I was just thinking I would lay there quietly and keep still lol

When I did brain surgery I woke up with two dots on my forehead my mom told me they put something there to keep my head still cuz I’m a toss turner and they were doin surgery on my left temporal lobe for my seizures my scar is behind my ear so what does it look like for that?
