@morihankyoei: 【Tea production】 In May of this year, we opened a new factory in Minamiyamashiro-mura, Kyoto, Japan, to produce Tencha ( tea leaves for matcha ). This video introduces the primary processing of raw leaves. Demand for matcha is increasing around the world. At the same time, however,the current situation surrounding tea farmers has various problems, such as ageing and declining population. Many tea farmers have to process new picked tea leaves into Aracha* for themselves. Especially during the tea picking season, they have to handle a large amount of processing in a short period of time, which is a big burden. *Aracha is tea leaves that have been harvested from the tea fields and steamed, or dried to prevent oxidation. Now that the supply of matcha is not keeping up with the demand, we are determined to face the situation, reduce the burden on farmers as much as possible, and protect the future of tea.
