And even then, she never went for a killshot on Caitlyn even though she probably could have. Even when she went for the eye, she just sliced across it instead of stabbing. She also gave the job of killing her to Maddie and couldn't watch while it happened, and she threw the spear at her earlier having already seen that Mel can and will deflect projectiles to defend Caitlyn. This was her trying to hit Caitlyn hard enough that she gave up and stopped fighting
