@anyaroscoe: Oops! I didn’t measure the kitchen myself, I had someone from ikea come and measure it. BUT he measured it before me plasterboard and plastered 😬 so I forgot to take into account the thickness of the new walls OOPS #renovationproject #renovationseries #kitchen #ikea #kitchenrenovation @IKEAUK
You have this. Your problem solving skills are excellent, and you’re already doing the right thing. Isolating the problem, focus on the options and choosing the best path forward.

The dishwasher gap is the least of your worries. Did you fit the units yourself ?

I used to be a kitchen designer at Ikea, you need the gap next to the tall cabinet to be able to open the door if you’re opening towards the kitchen cabinets, also as long as you have a 45cm gap, the slimline dishwasher should fit x

Surely this is an ikea problem if they’ve said it’ll fit? Have a look at different sizes because something should work

If you measures before it was all plastered you’ve added on a few mm with plaster board and plaster to that’s probs affected it

IKEA furniture runs smaller than most companies in many things mainly kitchens (drawers cupboards etc) so for their products it probably is the right measurements😩🤣

Could they not cut one of the end pieces down? And then shuffle it all along to allow for your dishwasher? My partner says you’ll need a proper joiner to do it but it could be done xx

IKEA did the same with us. Came out, agreed with our measurement. Had the kitchen delivered, he started installing it and then said “oh, this corner unit won’t fit, you need to buy different cupboards”

there should also be a filler piece a few inches wide between the tall cupboard and the wall, I'm quite surprised that you weren't informed at the consultation. Did you pay for the pre-installation visit? They should've picked up any errors before the order was completed
