Took our kids to Seaton Sands for £180 for a week just before half term. Following week during half term it was over £1000 for same place. Fine was £160 at the time (although our fine for this year was over £300 but still cheaper than taking them on summer holidays!)

To be fair it’s not the agents it’s the tour operators. I agree of course, but your local travel agent just sells what ‘Thomson, Olympic, Kuoni’ (all tour operators) have on their respective systems. Yes they get paid a commission but that again is set by the tour operators.

It's called seasons, prices all over the world for holidays go up during the holiday period, winter season prices in the Caribbean almost double budget t in Europe are cheaper, summer Europe prices are higher Caribbean cheaper. Unfortunately simple supply and demand economy.
