@emileesegura: it’s been so fun to watch Cruz show that he is actually understanding what we’re saying to him! Receptive language comes first and then expressive language follows soon after! I’m so excited to see his expression language come out more! Often times parents of deaf and hard of hearing kids wonder if they learning sign language is doing anything. I promise you it is! Language takes time and repeated exposure! They need to work on their receptive language (what they understand) before they can use their expressive language (what they say/sign).
