For those who keep insisting Sansa was wrong, the fact that Jon had to say "my decision is final" shows that he knew he couldn't convince them of the merit of his argument. Sansa proposed the normal and logical punishment. Whether it's right or not is a personal opinion but that's what's done. I'm sure the Mormont's who came with all 56 men to fight for the Starks would have been happy to get a bigger castle as a reward for their loyalty.

Sansa needed to learn her place. If Ned had been speaking, she wouldn’t have spoken. All she did was undermine Jon’s authority. That conversation should have been a private one. They need to represent a united front.
