Im a 5 year pro overseas and I do the Mikan before every workout to warm-up. Mikan drill is good for touch and foot work. You can make it harder with different variations and finishes.

Idk if this is rage bait or not bro but the Mikan drill was created by the NBA player George Mikan back in the 40s/50s. Like a Google search would tell you that. Also it’s still a good drill to start with.

1) Miken drill was way before the 80s 2) it’s for footwork, coordination and feel for the ball, it’s not for practicing a game shot 3) even Kyrie started w the Miken drill
