I’d probably start with a chisel plow then disk then a narrow spaced S tine cultivator a few trips. Works down here when we make a mess.

Chisel plow at an angle will do 90% of the work, then hit it with normal tillage in the spring it will all work out

We grow veggies and this has happened to me. We wait for it to dry out then go at with our case 870 ripper, then Leave it till spring.

Strip till bar is my go-to for digging out ruts and re-structuring the soil. Although we don’t do any other form of deep tillage besides zone building and our soils are heavier and good ground, but probably aren’t as black and clay-like as yours

It’s early get the ripper hitched up when it finally drys out rip it as deep as possible and let it sit it will be fine

I hate to say I told ya so but…. Seen it far too many times. I’ve been around the Seneca game for 20+ years…. It can get ugly. I’m guessing you’re gonna rip that twice this year. Give it a couple weeks, when the conditions get good rip it on a good angle, spread your liter in the fall and then rip it the opposite angle. We’re fortunate that frost does wonders in Minnesota….. by spring it’ll be shaped up pretty good

Been there, they don’t stop , but we know that when we sign the papers, disc rip as soon as you can don’t let the compacted ruts fill with water, where this at?

We have degelman high speed discs, shred the stalks great, will smooth the ruts, then level. Google one, pretty cool tool

@James Pieper you’re gonna have to either disk it as deep as you can or subsoil it. I farm bottom ground that’s what I end up doing when we have ruts.
