@bryansm91: Replying to @Stacey Lembesis when you grow up in the Appalachian Mountains- the rules seem pretty normal. #appalachianmountains #appalachia #storytime

There’s also an ancient species of “people” that originated in those mountains! The moon eyed people! They were dwarf like beings that were very pale & had white eyes only coming out of their cave dwellings at night. After the settlers landed in those mountains they disappeared.

Let’s also talk about how when people go missing the search ends at dusk and everyone has to get out of the woods or stay at your own risk

I’ve always enjoyed walking at night…until I moved to Appalachia. No more of that after a few “incidents”. Baby crying in the darkness. Woman screaming maybe 50 yards away. Mind you…this is the middle of nowhere

Grew up in Newfoundland and camped in the boonies in Ontario and we had the same rules as Appalachian mountain rules.

Close ur blinds @ night to loop spooks and haunts out. Paint your porch ceilings blue, haunts can’t cross over water to hey to you. If u r in those woods at night and something calls ur name at night don speak just keep on going. I was maybe 11 years old and had a high wart on my toe. We went to the lady who literally took her spot and rubbed it on my toe, she said something I didn’t understand and we left. Told grandma not to let me wash the toe. 3 days later I woke up and it was gone. If a haint ( ghost shows up to use ask it in “the name of Jesus Christ what do you want and it will either tell you or be gone. The whart still blows my mind. She was a nice lady but never went to church

Grew up in the mountains and never knew the rules or heard stories until TikTok. I think back on camping, hiking, and just going out at night. I’m so glad I didn’t know. I would have been terrified. Grandparents, great-great grandparents…all from the Appalachian mountains. How did I not know?
