Shes literally been approached by three letter agencies in the past to not say something. She has ex intelligence officers and SEALS in her security team, who all carry emergency wound stop and bandages along with Taylor herself. She had to have snipers and explosive dogs at her concerts. Two Trump supporters have broken into two of her homes this year alone. She’s said she will not speak if it puts anyone associated with her at risk and that includes the fandom world wide. She speaks? Someone is going to be attacked for wearing Taylor merch or listening to her music in the car or playing it in a store… the thing is she can’t sway our politics meaningfully in a good way right now. She just can’t.

Trump says Dems are bad and a democratic legislator gets assassinated, another shot, and a list of others found in the perpetrator’s car. Trump has repeatedly called out Taylor Swift specifically. She is a private citizen; she’s under no obligation to put herself at risk like that.

I haven’t seen any male artists under the same scrutiny, which is what drives me the most insane. Chappell gets dragged for speaking up, Tay gets dragged for not speaking up more. Justin Bieber is releasing an album- where’s the demand on him and his tone deaf-ness for releasing an album? I’ve never seen an artist or fandom under so much criticism. Exactly, her job is to bring joy. Politicians job is to work on government topics. Even if she did speak up they would tell her to stay in her lane. She speaks out without speaking out. She did a podcast that took away a record from Trump and Joe Rogan. Shes protecting her fans gatherings as well by not going at Trump because his supporters are violent. With the threat last year it doesn’t make sense for her to put herself or her fans in more danger.
