Today was one of those non stop mum Mondays. You know the kind where you feel like you’ve lived three days before you even get to sit down? Started my morning with a quick coffee and straight into working on our YouTube channels. Then it was off to the orthodontist with my son. He’s been coming here for over a year now, getting ready for braces. It actually took me back in time to when I used to take my three daughters to the dentist, the doctors, the opticians… it felt like every week there was some kind of appointment. School plays, parent evenings, endless lists of things to do. And now they’re all grown up and moved out. Time really does fly. This place though honestly, so much nicer and more modern compared to the dentist I used to take the girls to. But sitting there, looking at my son’s changing face, knowing these little routines won’t last forever… it made me stop and appreciate this stage, even if it’s exhausting. Of course, he came out starving and wanted a sausage roll, so we stopped at Greggs. Meanwhile, I still hadn’t eaten a thing all day. Straight after, I nipped into Tesco for a quick shop before heading home running on fumes. Straight into the kitchen, cooked two different dishes chickpea curry, paneer, plus homemade naan and yes, my hair is greasy! Finally, a couple of cocktails later I get to sit down (much needed after today). This is motherhood. Even with one child at home, the days are still full, busy, and so easy to put yourself last. To my mums and dads! reading this do you find it the same? In the earlier video I posted today today, I spoke about what happened and how I’ve been feeling since yesterday incident outside the cinema. But this was filmed right there, while it was still unfolding before my eyes. If you watched the odean upload you’ll see I’d only left the cinema for a few minutes just to grab my glasses from Costa when everything changed. A boy, clearly terrified, was suddenly surrounded. You could see the panic on his face. It all happened so quickly, but you could tell this was serious. Living in the UK, especially in Birmingham and West Midlands, you hear about knife attacks all the time, but when you’re right there and it’s unfolding in front of you, it hits you in a way the news never can.
