@blondejeff: The men I grew up around taught me what I never wanted to become. They believed masculinity meant toughness, silence, and control and aggression. They thought showing care was weakness and that listening made you “soft.” Those lessons didn’t just shape how they lived they shaped how they treated the people around them. That is why seeing advocates like Daniel Principe go into schools and teach boys about consent, accountability, and respect matters so much. He’s giving young men what too many before them never had: the language to understand how toxic behaviours can creep in, and the tools to build healthier versions of manhood. And yet, we still see voices online attacking this work as “woke” or “dangerous.” What they really fear is not boys losing their masculinity. What they fear is boys unlearning the broken model of masculinity that they were taught to protect. Teaching boys about respect isn’t dangerous.
