We hosted an Italian exchange student when I was in middle school. Once I was old enough his parents hosted me. 35 years later I'm hosting his son. It's an awesome experience.

We had a couple of German girls that came to my school as part of the foreign exchange student program and one of them Jessica and the other was also named Annika. She and I got pretty close. We never ended up formally dating, but we were always together in the halls, at sporting events, and at all of the “outside of school social gatherings”. I went to a very small school in the Midwest. My senior class graduated 28 students. Seeing her name again after all these years (graduated 2008) sure brings back a lot of memories and makes me think of a long lost love connection that was missed. My how I wish I could know how she’s doing now.

We hosted a girl from Norway when I was 9 years old. That was 36 years ago and we are still family. Her and her family come to visit every other year and we have been to Norway to stay with them.

My family hosted six Exchange Students over the years, and other than raising our own children. It was the most rewarding experiences we ever had. ❤️

Yeah but then that sadness when they go back home. Got 4 kids of my own who I don’t see 24/7 and it’s depressing when they leave and go back to their mama

We love ours, on our 4 th year. 1st one a boy from France, 2nd one a girl from Finland, 3rd one a boy from Brazil, and 4th one a girl from France! Love showing them our way of life. They are our kids now, our family!
