fr I was having a casual convo with an atiny on twt and I mentioned that i stopped stanning ateez because I felt their music was starting to all sound the same and didn't feel like it had much meaning anymore and it felt they were just trying go appease to western audiences now. went to sleep, woke up, and I had been canceled by atiny twt in my sleep 🤣 like damn yall got me while I was down

It kinda tires me how ppl think liking something automatically means u must be a superfan. Like its literally totally fine to say u like a group or band but only know some songs bc those r the ones u listen to. I love exo so mych but like i maybe listen to 40% of their discography and the rest ill skip just cuz its nkt for me. And i know almost nothing abt the actual members ghemselves😭 being back just liking music normally💔

it really frustrating because it could be such a simple conversation to be had but other things get added into the mix. i agree that every cb or release won’t please everyone however i think we all can admit that the sound for kpop has shifted over the years due to obvious reason (“we need the next best group”). I feel like when someone critiques a group as a fan, the fandom questions their loyalty and then what originally is said gets lost in talks abt charts or achievements when at its core its abt the music 😵💫
