@thecornerplot: Tried my hand at making a Japanese rolled omelette – tamagoyaki 🍳✨ This is a flavoured rolled omelette and is great for Bento boxes or for sushi. It’s made by rolling a couple of layers of cooked eggs in a rectangular pan to create a soft delicate layered omelette. It took a few attempts, but I think I’ve finally got the hang of it! 🔸 Beat 1 egg with 1 tbsp dashi or mirin + 1 tsp light soy sauce
🔸 Heat a special tamagoyaki pan with a touch of oil
🔸 Pour in a thin layer, cook gently, then roll it up with chopsticks
🔸 Add another layer, let it slip under the roll, cook, then roll again
🔸 Finish by shaping it in a sushi mat #Tamagoyaki #JapaneseFood #HomemadeSushi #EggLover #eggroll
