I’m from Bafut and I was told of this story and the curses and actually the name Bafut pronounced in the dialect as Bïfïï means people who have been locked. There was a time some 15yrs back when a Rev father came for a public confession and the purpose was to cleanse the land. So yes it’s not just a legend it’s the truth

This is Nkwen please … her name was maiwakizang ( not correct spelling)… our compound is the keeper of trees (trees beside the compound ) .. .. the trees actually bleed blood or red fluid …. ( tried it when growing out of curiosity)… her grave is where the trees are found … the place is known to bless women of the land lacking children or women that can’t give birth .( these woman come with banana seeds during sacrifiction to be bless with children ) … …… during development one of the tree were cut down and we lost a lot of natives after a lot of sacrifices .
