Idk why people assume we're locking our kids in the basement and not letting them out 🤣🤣 my kids talk to everyone haha. I was told by teachers that we were at to school to learn. Not socialize 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

They mean “weird” I homeschool as well! So nobody come for me bc you handled that situation way better than I would have. Looks like we’re not conditioning our kids to be quiet for 7-8 hours. Oh the things I’d say if the role was reversed

They picture homeschool being like regular school where you have to sit down, be quiet and learn. Like no, my kids have so many friends and events that my calendar is color coordinated lol.

I grew up homeschooled going to a really fantastic co-op. I’m definitely well socialized and I never got the stereotype as a kid. Then I went to college and met a boy who fit the stereotype and omg lmao. I now refer to them only as The Unsocialized because it has nothing to do with homeschool and everything to do with parents limiting their children lol.

As a now adult who was homeschooled, there is a difference for sure. It’s not a bad one. My husband often says “your homeschool is showing”. It’s usually when I’m collecting dead insects or identifying plants 🤣

I grew up with the stereotypical thoughts of homeschooling due to lack of education. Now, I give major props for homeschooling families! We’ve been looking more and more into it to gain more information. It’s so freeing!

I love the “aren’t you worried they’re gonna be socially awkward?” Ummm no? Just like adults some children are more social than others. No amoiunt of schooling will change that. Ever seen a really socially awkward child in a public school setting? Yea they’re normally the ones unfortunately getting picked on and being alone by themselves reading a book over in the corner. I think children socializing outside of school and normal family is great. Teaching them interactions at the grocery store, bank how bunisness works etc a lot of that is left out now. Personally I love seeing families get more involved with their children’s learning!

What do kids get in trouble for the most when at school? Talking. 😂 Socializing is such a dumb excuse. The kids will get plenty of socializing at all their other activities they get to do bc they are locked away at school.
