My brother-in-law is black. My niece and nephew are mixed and I love my family to death. We were not taught hatred. We were taught that we are all human beings. My parents were cool. They welcomed everyone into their lives. I miss both of them

This is so precious 🥰🥰🥰. When my daughter (now 20) was 2, she came home with little braids all over her head. The next morning, I asked her teacher (who was also studying to be a hairdresser) about it. Apparently, my daughter said she wanted "brown girl braids", because she thought they were pretty. I gave her a big hug, and thanked her. I did, however, ask her not to do that again, only because my daughter has very fine, flyaway, hair. Getting those tiny braids out, and get her hair detangled, was a major battle. I made sure to get pictures first.
