@cspanofficial: President Trump opened a meeting Monday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky by saying substantial progress was being made toward ending the war in Ukraine. The president was holding a multilateral meeting with President Zelensky and top European leaders following a summit with Russian President Valdimir Putin in Alaska on Friday. "We had a good meeting, as you know, just a short while ago with the president of Russia, and I think there's a possibility something can come out of it. And today's meeting is very important," President Trump said at the Oval Office. President Zelensky thanked his American counterpart for holding the meeting and praised first lady Melania Trump for sending a letter to President Putin urging him to end the war.
