Fecal matters :
Classic chronic diarrhea history. GPs were fine while they thought I had crohns or colitis. When tests came back negative. They always lost interest and just gave me the classic “ it’s just IBS , stop feeling sorry for yourself and get on with it* . It wasn’t just IBS and I wasn’t feeling sorry for myself. I have a rare malabsorption illness. It took £10 k in private medical investment. A test the NHS doesn’t even offer. Post diagnosis I still gaslit when it comes to prescription s for opioids and muscle relaxers. It’s horrible

I needed to hear this, thank you. I always thought I’d be able to advocate for myself very well, but the fact I’ve been living with this for 20 yrs and I’ve only just entered the system properly probably means I haven’t. Thankfully my partner will be with me, he has lived this too and will absolutely be my voice if I can’t.

I changed health authorities and feel ignored now. My scan in 2022 showed it was in remission and feel they don’t want to know now. All they have done is taken biopsies and confirmed that I also have diverticulitis, scad and given a dietitian appointments which are pretty rubbish as I have had crohns since 2013, so my current flares are not my first rodeo!!
